Admission Requirements

CNA/CHHA Admission Requirements

  • Students who are under 18 must either have a High School Diploma OR a GED OR sign the enrollment agreement jointly with a parent or guardian.

  • An Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) background check will be submitted for each student. This report must be clear of felony convictions for certain specified crimes or the student is ineligible for instruction. A list of the felonies can be obtained in the business office.
  • Each student is given a TB skin test on the first day of class. The result of this test must be negative to be eligible to continue the course.
  • Students must have good hearing and eyesight with corrective appliances as needed.
  • Students must have sufficient physical capabilities to complete training and avail themselves of employment opportunities. The curriculum for this program is based on the duties required for job performance. Following is a list of functions, many of which require physical capabilities. Tasks include but are not limited to: Bed Baths, Assistance with Dressing/Undressing, Routine Mobility, Feeding, Grooming, Changing an Occupied/Unoccupied Bed, Transferring, Mouth Care, Taking /Recording Vital Signs, Hand Washing, Hair & Nail Care.

Certified Medication Aide Course Admission Requirements

  • Students must have a current Oklahoma Long Term Care, Home Health or DDCA with no abuse notations.
  • Students must be 18 years of age or older and have a minimum education of a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Students must have a minimum of 6 months experience working as a Certified Nurse Aide.

CMA-CEU Course Admission Requirements

  • Students must have a current Oklahoma Long Term Care, Home Health or DDCA with no abuse notations.
  • Students must have a current Oklahoma Certified Medication Aide certification.

Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) Deeming Course Admission Requirements

  • Students must have a current Oklahoma CNA certification.
  • Students must have good hearing and eyesight with corrective appliances as needed.
  • Students must have sufficient physical capabilities to complete training and avail themselves of employment opportunities.
